(BROWNSVILLE) – The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets Soccer Team has been hit by a bug that’s plagued them over the season.

And that bug per se just happened to be the injury bug.

“Four out of our starting players are out due to injuries and that’s made things a bit more difficult for us,” said head coach Mauro Tijerina. “But nonetheless, we are going to continue to move forward.”

The injury riddled Jackets went into Brownsville to take on a very tough Pace team and gave them quite a challenge in a 2-1 losing effort.

“The kids played well tonight,” Tijerina said. “We were able to get a goal by Mauricio Ramos and pushed Pace to the very limits.”

“The injuries are hindering out potential. However, the kids that played gave it their all and I am proud of them. We are going to dust ourselves off, get up and keep moving forward.”
